Something for My Door

We got a beautiful Ice storm it's pretty to look at but deadly to walk around in or even drive

So I'm happy to be one of the lucky ones that still have power and able to be warm

Some people will be without power for 72 hours Yikes !! Crappy time to have that happen to you for sure I Hope that those that don't have power get it restored alot quicker then that time line!!

I wanted to make a new wreath this year for my front door it is a boring brown door that will eventually change in the summer I'm guessing but there is so much to fix up in this old house we won't worry about the Blah colour for now lol.

I've used my Recollections 12 by 12 and cut up a whole bunch of sheets into 4 by 4 squares normally these would be the last sheets I use to make cards with but this way they are the 1st ones I've used in trying to use what I have on hand. The Ribbon I bought 2 years ago and pulled it out of my Christmas boxes to find this yummy gold. The petals of the gold flower is trimmed ribbon and melted the edges with a candle the curly q's are the wire trim of the ribbon wrapped around a pencil then glued in place with HOT glue. The only things I bought to finish this was the little red balls and they are holding all the petals down and a few extra hot glued in place. This didn't cost to much to make but it did take a while.

I used about 100 little 4 by 4 squares on a piece of foam board.

the bottom to layers are Flat to add extra depth and there is two layers

Off to the post as Quick as I can make it.

I've done all my Christmas shopping but it's really easy to do and I have one to get a good friend who will be visiting but she's here in Jan so that's when we swap our gifts so Boxing day sales here I come !!!

Flowery Hello !!!

I love all my Basic Grey paper it's what I actually own the most of and I just found out Basic Grey challenges is on it's last challenge so I had to enter and look it's not a Christmas Card

The die cut leaves where pink but I wanted them to blend in more with the card and added in orange and brown to them. I'm also not one to use alot of flowers and with these cute little roses how could you not use them the little curly q's are the stems on them.
Now I just have to make a box envelope for this card :)

I always love to see if I can make a Christmas card using no Christmas Papers this is one of those cards

It's ok to use any paper as long as you can get the colours you like and if they aren't perfect or seem not right I love to tint them paint over etc. Plus they really stand out on a mantel. So Here is Snowblower so Cute !!!

Sometimes you realize it's time to use up those stash of coloured images and get creating some extra cards :)

so here's one using a Limited Runs digi Red Nose Reindeer. I think I'm short on Christmas Cards a little bit once I started writing everyone's name down and getting them mailed out wow I made over 80 I give out way more then I ever get back but it's the time of year where your suppose to give and I love to see people's faces when they get a handmade card there's something more to it plus I still don't have an oven so no baking I guess unless I borrow a stove somewhere I'll just pick it up and bring it home lol

Last Time I was at Fabricland to make my Halloween Cape I found this sweet thread on sale and thought how perfect it would be for xmas Cards it's Red/Green mixed together so perfect for C&S xmas Cards They always look elegant. The paper is embossed Sparkle paper so at least it the sparkles don't get all over your hands.

Here's a little Mini Tag Card (8 of them in total) I've made for my Christmas gifts this

Year. Also I made a Christmas tag box and now it's getting full of homenade tags. Waiting for their presents. I love using Kraft Paper for Xmas and just use fancy colour bows and Tags. The Snowflake has been stamped with Merry Christmas all over it then tinted red and embossed with WoW clear.

More Christmas Cards a whole set

Sometimes when you start a Card it doesn't go the way you thought it would be

I was going to have it go horizontal and as I played around with it and didn't end up going the way I thought it would go. The little ornament is hanging from the tag it's then it is fixed to the card.

 I found a challenge that inspires you to make a Christmas cards 6 of them
and for me that's just perfect !!

Warm and Cold Christmas

This is what I think of when I blend these two colours into a Xmas card, the cold of outside and being toasty warm inside mmm now I want some cocoa

This year we aren't decorating the house due to the fact that we are under major renos

and living in it, so I'm keeping it all tucked away so it won't get all covered in the nasty dust that get's about the house. Next year we have plans to be closer to finished and the tree will be up and the rooms will each have their own colour pallet to enjoy. At least I can get extra decorations when all the sales are on :)
