So Here is my Desk ..... VERY EMPTY indeed. I finished the base with the DH laughing at me the whole time as I put it together 1st attempt I should have used a square the legs where so tilted. 2nd time around much better and it's now straight but he still enjoyed me putting it together lol but I'm very happy with it. Now I just want to change out the top and the shelf then it will be a totally new looking desk with some really kewl looking.
I think I'll still need something to protect it once done.
So here's a close up the shell I've been putting my loose stamps in Not sure what type it is
but it's beautiful. Thanks Judys DH for letting me know it's a Nacre Shell :)
Now here is my space
Everything has been put back and I'm working one some cards for a Christmas card drive and the lucky winner is #24 who is Cindy Congrats send me your snail mail and I'll pop your little pink candy in the post.
So this is my space again you can check out everyone else's at Julia's
hugs Nikki

It looks great - take no notice of DH, he's probably feeling threatened by your independent DIY skills!! LOL

ReplyDeleteLovely shell.
Your green mat is just the same as mine - stained and well worn (used) but they are so expensive I haven't got around to replacing. It works so why bother?

Your new desk is looking good! And your shell is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOoh not heard of a nacre shell, thought it was a NZ paua (otherwise known as abalone) we used to pick them up on the beach. Either way, its beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see so many are starting Christmas cards....it means I can have a nose round to get some ideas as my Christmas mojo has deserted me!

We have those shells on our coast, they are known as Pearl le moen or abalone. This one of yours has had the rough stuff ground off and has been varnished. That is quite a popular thing to do with them here too and they sell to the tourists like hot cakes. They do not occur naturally like you see it on your desk! I am really impressed with your desk, your DH can laugh all he likes, I think you are brilliant! I am late to visit as I had a self inflicted deadline to achieve...#19
ReplyDeleteWow great job with the desk the most I can manage is a flat pack - although I do a lot of 'balancing' LOL most of my craftroom moves if you lean on it too hard!! Great news about the win, I'll send my snail mail toot sweet. Cindy
ReplyDeleteLovely new desk (well done assembling it, despite hubby's laughter!!) and what a beautiful shell. I have one similar, but it's a much lighter colour. It lives in the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
